The floral theme is continued on the two upper drawers and the four smaller doors below. The large central door is embellished with an intricately hand-painted woman. The lustrous gold base coat is also hand-painted. The four outer doors swing open on "menzhou," an ancient hingeless mechanism which allows the doors to be easily and completely removed, while the central door operates on sturdy brass hinges.
